post #11 is right about the mechanism and I think understates the practical bit.
Amino acid residues and formulation: the specific sequence and composition of a peptide affects what formulation conditions it tolerates. Sequences high in methionine need more antioxidant protection. Sequences prone to aggregation need different pH or additive protection.
Emulsification and suspensions: some formulations are emulsions or suspensions rather than solutions. Semaglutide formulations are solutions; some other compounds are suspensions. The physical form affects stability and administration.
Isotonicity: an isotonic solution has the same osmotic pressure as blood. Non-isotonic solutions can cause discomfort on injection. Injectable peptide solutions are formulated to be isotonic.
