f.ibarra, post #5: On the opening post — agreed on the reasoning, with one qualification. Two things before anyone answers the substance. First, the context in the first post is clear and specific. Second, the question is framed so that an answer can actually address it. Both are the norm here and both matter more than they sound. Go to post

post #5 answers the question as asked. The question underneath it is different.

No payment facilitation: this site does not handle payments and does not connect buyers and sellers for the purpose of payment. We discuss logistics and documentation of the process but not the commerce itself.

On post #8 — agreed on the reasoning, with one qualification.

Practical note that does not fit anywhere else. Whatever you conclude from this topic, write down what you did and when. The single most useful thing in your own records is not any individual result; it is that they are dated and consecutive.

Fraud and scams: if a supplier demands payment upfront with no recourse if delivery fails, you are taking a risk. Reputation and history of other buyers matter.

Cryptocurrency for payment: offers less fraud protection than credit cards and is final like bank transfer. Advantage: no geographic restrictions and no intermediary can reverse it. Disadvantage: if you send to a wrong address, it is lost.

Worth separating two things that post #56 runs together.

Payment mechanics: most suppliers accept bank transfer, crypto, and some accept credit cards. Each has different risk and different fees. Understand before you commit to a payment method.

Recurring billing: if a supplier sets up recurring billing by default, understanding the terms for cancellation is important before the first charge.

micrograms, post #77: post #76 is right about the mechanism and I think understates the practical bit. Bank transfer and finality: once a bank transfer is sent, it is final. The money is gone. There is no recourse with the bank if the supplier disappears. That is why supplier reputation matters if using transfers. Go to post

Picking up post #76: that is the part I would want checked first.

Currency conversion: payment in your local currency often involves a conversion fee. Paying in the supplier's native currency sometimes saves money, sometimes costs more. Compare before committing.

Documentation and tax implications: payments you make for compounds might have implications for tax reporting depending on your jurisdiction. Keeping clear records matters.
