Travel coolers and how long they really hold — the long version — setting out what I have, and where I think it stops being reliable.

Reporting something rather than asking about it, in case the pattern is useful to anyone else.

Over 19 weeks I logged this consistently: date, dose, time of day, and a simple severity score from 0 to 4 for each symptom. That is 157 data points, all self-reported, all unblinded, and collected by someone who knew what he expected to find. Treat it accordingly.

The reason I am posting is that my experience does not match the shape people usually describe here, and I would like to know whether that is unusual or whether the usual description is just the loudest version.

Light protection: avoid direct sunlight and UV exposure. Amber vials or opaque containers reduce light exposure. For short-term storage, keeping the vial in its original packaging (often opaque) usually suffices.

Shipping container and cold packs: reputable suppliers use insulated containers with cold packs designed to arrive cool. Checking on arrival that cold packs are still cold is a sign the chain was maintained.

Temperature logging: devices that record temperature over time let you confirm cold chain was maintained. Useful if a shipment was delayed or if you are concerned about excursion.
